Media: 8th February

Script for opening of ‘The 13th Hour’
Scene 1
Our first clip will start with a black screen incorporating dialogue and low non-diegetic sound.
Visuals starts when phone is answered, the scene is outside at Queens Park.
 (SFX): Phone ringing
Zoe: Who is this?
Shot switches to an extreme close up of the kidnappers chin and mouth while he speaks.
John: I have your sister. You have thirteen hours to complete thirteen challenges or she’s dead.
(SFX): Phone hanging up
(SFX): Text message received
The next shot will be an over the shoulder shot where the phone with the fist task on it is visible to the audience.

Scene 2
Extreme close up of Lauanne who is tied to a chair. The camera zooms out to reveal her surroundings. She is in a small dark room with red lighting. (The dark room at QPCS)
Lauanne: Please let me go (repeated in a quiet voice)
John: Your time starts now
Digital timer in corner of the screen appears when John says ‘now’. This will remain there until the end of the film.

Scene 3
Camera cuts to Queens Park.
We are once again outside and filming Zoe. When the camera cuts to her she is running.
(SFX): Loud non-diegetic sound
Tracking shot, Zoe turns around while camera follows.
Zoe spots James who is holding Lauanne’s scarf. She goes over. He is going to drop the scarf. When Zoe picks it up a note falls out. Camera cuts to an over the shoulder shot as Zoe reads the front of the note, which will be ‘2nd challenge’. Close up of Zoe.
Black screen and the opening credits come up with loud non-diegetic sound.
