Media: 23rd November

For the last few weeks we've been watching 'Pirates Of The Caribbean' and taking down notes on things like lighting, sound (diegetic/ non-diegetic), camera shots, special effects, the genre of the film and the audience.
The film is an action, adventure and fantasy with an audience from the age of 12 and at families.
An example of lighting would be how Barbossa is seen in darker light than Will, this shows the difference in their character on is good and the other is bad.
An example of diegetic sound is the running footsteps of the Royal Navy as they chase Jack Sparrow through Port Royal.
An example of non-diegetic sound would be the cheerful and heroic music that accompanies the introduction of Jack Sparrow.
An example of the special effects used are the cannons fired when Port Royal is being attacked by the Black Pearl and the pirates.
An example how camera shots are used is by the camera following the Black Pearl from end to end and having a long shot of the ship, this shows the importance of the ship and that it'll play a big part in the film.
An example of how the film gets across to the audience is by having fun and playful music when the likable character of Jack Sparrow is seen.

Media: 2nd November

Today in class we got to watch the incredible Pirates Of The Caribbean The Curse Of The Black Pearl. (or some of it anyway)
No, we didn't do this because our teacher thought we deserved a treat we did this so we could analyse the film. Which includes commenting on lighting, camera angles, music used and the effect it has on the viewer, how it's good for drawing in the target audience, the genre, non-diegetic and diegetic sound (sound added in and sound that is already their Eg: Music over a scary scene as non-diegectic sound and footsteps as diegetic sound)

Media: 19th October

Today we got to watch the opening scene of Monsters Inc!
We had to analysis the openign part, see what techniques were used. Eg: Digetic/non-digetic sound.
We also did the opening sequence to Saving Private Ryan which had a lot to write about like the way the camera has been moved to create a realistic atmosphere of chaos for the audience.#

Media: 12th October

Today in Media we were meant to be doing some filming but the cameras weren't ready because of low batteries, we only had two of our story boards and we were missing a member of our group (John!)
So instead I added the two posts I had missed and made my bog archive box bigger because it was annoying me with the way it looked so messy and out of place, I also helped out Lauanne a bit with her blog.

Media: 28th September

Our teacher wasn't here so we were told to continue with our blog, I went over the design of my blog and changed the things I didn't like such as the colour of my text box.
I like working with designing my blog because it was simple and I could do what ever I wanted without having to listen to the input of someone else.

I set up a blog for my Media Studies class.
This blog will be used as a place to reflect after lessons and basically write about what the lessons involved.
The lesson we had where we made our blogs was fun but tedious when it came to designing them,
